.Chapter One.
For as long as any one could remember, there had always been one pack, and one Grand Emperor. There was no disputing his word, no disobeying of his commands. Peace settled among the ranks of wolves for many years and there didn't seem to be any upset in the future. That is, until they began to notice, that pups were going missing- constantly. Upset grew as young children were hoarded and kept safe, the yearly report on pups lessened which made the Grand Emperor suspicious of his kingdom. The Master Brute sent out several battalions of his troops, and discovered all the 'lost' children. All pups, newborn or yearlings, were brought to directly to him and to show the wolves beneath him to punishment for hiding the spawn, he killed them all. The mass slaughter of pups sent wolves into panic and insanity.
Each year after that, when pups were born at least one from every litter was sacrificed to the Grand Emperor, wolves soon found out that he was a cannibal, and thought pup meat to be the most delectable. The thought was startling for the wolves, for they hadn't yet known this sort of evil. Several nobles began to plot against their king, Zorro Akumi, Voltaire Syth, Gabe Hkan, and Luther. These males would first plot together, deciding to kill the Grand Emperor and dispel his evil ways of pup killing. They knew he carried no heir and the five wolves who stood next in line to the throne all believed the Master Brute's outlook. The band of four wolves became known as The Resistance, and for months they worked in secret beneath the Grand Emperor's nose formulating their plan. They were found out however, in the midst of their scheme. The Master Brute had known all about what they had been doing, for one of them was a traitor.
The four wolves were scheduled for death, even the one who had snitched, he knew better then to step out and show himself to all the others. Every wolf from the every reach of the kingdom was ordered to come, forced out of their dens to watch the brutal deaths of those who had tried to rise against. There was a ring of silence as hundreds of wolves stood tightly packed- little did they know the Grand Emperor was riding the edge of destroying them all, and keeping faes of different lines to rebuild the kingdom. The traitors were brought to the middle, cast down and beaten by the hand guards of the Grand Emperor- they were forced to lay in submission as the Master Brute who was going to kill them, approached. The following events happened so quick it was hard to decipher. Gabe's mate broke the circle in death defying charge for the Master Brute, tears staining her eyes- if her mate was to die, she wanted nothing to do with this earth any longer. The she-wolf was captured, raped before everyone's eyes then slaughtered and torn limb from limb.
The show was to much for Gabe, he died instantly from the grief that stopped his heart. Luther and Zorro were horrified and found their way to their feet, Voltaire followed. Snarls erupted from all around, hackles raised, teeth glistened, eyes red hot with anger. The Master Brute had signed his own death warrant. His hand guards were taken down, half his army distracted by the tightening mass. The Grand Emperor had no time left, the three noble males from The Resistance attacked the brute who had little fighting skills and took his life slowly and painfully. Some wolves began to flee, hoping to escape the bloodshed and keep their lives. Others stayed and fought, fought and lost their lives. Months and months of fighting ensued, The Resistance soon broke apart as tensions to who the snitch had been rose. Eyes fell upon each one, and soon wolves were picking sides.
Three packs took feeble shape, Zorro leading the wolves of Ruiss, Voltaire leading the wolves of Drogh and Luther leading the wolves of Naur. Many wolves of the old kingdom broke away, took to the roaming life as loners and rouges with no rules to follow but their own. Pups were born and raised, and it soon became apparent who the snitch had been, as pups from his pack began to go missing. Voltaire was targeted and his pack nearly destroyed but he pulled back to the farthest corner of the empire and lived on. Zorro and Luther became rivals and wound up killing each other for control of the Grand Empire, now their heirs are picking up the shambled pieces of a war gone horribly wrong, and must look upon the situation with their own eyes, make their own decisions.
